The Fucking Mondays: vaginas, self-cannibals, forbidden cybersex, South Koreans and de Sade

This week in The Fucking Mondays – people pretty much everywhere are terrified by penises and vaginas, and those interesting things that they do. Surprise!

♦  iTunes has decided that the word “vagina” must be censored. Somehow I don’t think V****a: A New Biography quite alerts the reader to what they’re getting themselves into… unless, of course, those people have eyes and can see the book cover clearly in front of their faces. Does iTunes think blind people have more sensitive constitutions? Naomi Wolf’s new book might be pseudo-feminist pseudo-science, but at least she knows enough to realize that “vagina” is a medical term, not a swear.

♦  Remember that guy who cut off and cooked up his own genitals for hungry restaurant-goers back in May? Yeah, I wish I didn’t either. Except now he’s in the news again, as it seems that displaying one’s genitals constitutes “indecent exposure” whether they are still attached or not.

♦  The rise in virtual sex means a rise in virtual sex censorship. No porn or shit-talking for you, Philippines!

♦  S Korea meets the 19th century, promptly tells de Sade he can go stuff himself. He, of course, readily complied.

And last but not least, expect this to be a regular feature. Jimmy Kimmel gives us the ever-hilarious Unnecessary Censorship.
